The Florida Automatic Sprinkler Training (F.A.S.T.) program is a State-of-Florida Apprenticeship association representing all merit shop fire sprinkler system contracting firms within the state. The F.A.S.T. association members represent all specialties within the fire sprinkler industry and are comprised primarily of state-certified fire sprinkler contractors who perform work in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors of the industry

F.A.S.T.’s activities include education and training, workforce development, technology, recognition through state and national competitions and awards programs, employee and employer educational benefits, information on the best industry practices and the continued growth and development of the fire sprinkler industry.

F.A.S.T.’s mission is the advancement of the merit shop construction philosophy, which encourages open competition and a free-enterprise approach that awards contracts based solely on merit.

F.A.S.T. was founded in 1990 when four fire sprinkler contractors got together in Orlando, FL to create an industry specific association who’s singleness-of-purpose was to develop an education and training program to address the single biggest problem facing the industry at that time, a lack of qualified personnel.

Their financial, emotional, and philosophical support and above all DEDICATION to the education and training within the merit shop philosophy spread rapidly and today F.A.S.T. has become one of the premier industry training associations in the state of Florida.
